I love Elle Kennedy's writing style because it is just so easy to read. Her books make you laugh out loud but also pull you in to where you're feeling the emotions with the characters. Once I started this book, I didn't want to put it down. I loved it so much I could have finished it in one day!
This book is about Diana Dixon and Shane, who live across from each other. Shane is a hockey player who just got out of a long-term relationship, and he is trying to get over his ex by sleeping his way through the cheerleading squad. Diana is a cheerleader and is also in a dance competition. She works two jobs and is very dedicated to whatever she sets her mind to. Dixon has an ex-boyfriend who just won't get the hint that she is no longer interested in him. Shane is looking to catch his ex-girlfriend's eye, and Diana needs help getting rid of her ex, so they decide to fake date.
I absolutely loved the banter in this book. The way Diana goes after Shane every chance she gets had me laughing throughout most of the book! The chemistry between Diana and Shane was explosive—there was never a boring moment with these two. There were so many good aspects of this book that tied it together so well! Like Shane getting pulled into ballroom dancing, or how Diana got everyone to dislike Shane in the HOA. Even how they would watch reality TV shows together was just so enjoyable. There were also some tough parts in this book that make you feel the same emotions the characters were going through.
